Is me.
A twenty something
year old who loves fashion. Particularly vintage fashion.
I was an avid op shopper until the pieces I loved to buy and
wear began to disappear. Off to the vintage shops they went. Don't get me
wrong, I love a vintage shop as much as the next girl. But my bank balance… not
so much.
So what to do?
I have always loved art and fashion and pursued art after
high school only to discover it was not the right path for me.
So it all came back to fashion. Too hard I thought. I had it
in my head that I would have to move to the city and do the same thing all the
other "fashion girls". That’s not what I wanted.
I already had my own style and knew what I wanted to create.
Then came the handmade movement and I saw people earning a living from their
beautiful handmade pieces.
I signed up for a pattern drafting course in a nearby town and
off I went. After a year I became fully qualified in “The Pattern Drafter”
system and decided I would start my own label.
Slowly but surely I worked on my designs and made some
garments. I primarily use cotton and cotton blend fabrics, with a mix of new
and vintage up-cycled materials. I take my inspiration from the 1940’s through
to the 1970’s with a focus on flattering cuts and styles. Dresses are my main
pieces, but I do have some skirts, aprons and other accessories.
I’m currently working on an Etsy store and will hopefully have some pieces up for sale soon.
